Long-tailed brilliant starling Lamprotornis caudatus

Brilliant starlings (#Lamprotornis) are a genus of songbirds of the starling family (#Sturnidae), uniting more than 20 species.

They live in Africa. They are distinguished by bright, predominantly bluish or greenish plumage with a metallic sheen. They live in various forests, groves, parks and gardens. They nest in hollows and other shelters.

Form flocks outside the breeding season. They feed on fruits, berries and small invertebrates. Some species accompany large ungulates, catching insects scared by them.

Long-tailed brilliant starling (Lamprotornis caudatus) distributed in tropical Africa from Senegal to Sudan, where it inhabits forests, shrubs at an altitude of up to 2,000 m above sea level, they are found in agricultural land and in human settlements.

This starling does not fly very well (apparently, its 35-centimeter tail interferes with it), but it runs quickly on the ground. Long-tailed starlings are able to imitate the singing of other birds. They nest in tree hollows, in a clutch of 2-4 eggs.
